IBM Plex Mono is the monospaced member of the IBM Plex type system, designed by Mike Abbink in collaboration with Paul van der Laan and Pieter van Rosmalen of Bold Monday. Released in 2017, it was developed as part of IBM’s first proprietary corporate typeface family.

The Plex family was created to reflect IBM’s engineering heritage while maintaining a warm and human character — balancing technical precision with approachable design. IBM Plex Mono is particularly suited to coding, terminal interfaces, and technical documentation.

IBM Plex Mono is released as open-source under the SIL Open Font License and is available through Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts, and Bold Monday.
