3D Monogram
Pihakapi was a ready-to-wear project initiated by luxury leather manufacturer Pellemoda and designer Vejas Kruszewski (2016 LVMH special prize recipient, also known for his name-sake label Vejas).
The retro-futuristic style of his collections, amplified by Haley Wollens’ styling approach, are embodied in the dynamic monogram which shape adapts and fills all digital and printed spaces. In contrast, the steady logotype, combining name and address, uses a typeface influenced by Roman stone engraving, hints to the artisanal tradition of the parent company, and is always in the same position.
While the first campaign explored a dynamic grid, the SS19 season sees the monogram becoming an imposing three-dimensional sculpture, contrasting with the soft textures of Camille Vivier’s photographs.
