Buy Aguzzo

Aguzzo is quite loosely related to Alessandro Butti's and Aldo Novarese's Augustea (Fonderia Nebiolo, 1951), an engravers-style typeface based on Roman capitals, notable for its triangular punctuation and enclosed figure '2' — features highlighted as alternate stylistic character sets in Aguzzo. This is, however, where the similarities end: Aguzzo combines rigorously carved geometry with more transitional traits, making it stand on its own two feet. The upright styles' sharp expression is mirrored in the steep 16° inclination of the Italic, whose introduction of a variety of broad-nib flourishes nicely contrasts the upright styles. The typeface's occasionally unusual letterforms, yet high degree of legibility, make Aguzzo suited for use in a multitude of sizes and contexts.
