The inspiration for Concrette originated while crafting the sans-serif counterpart, Dazzed. Intrigued by the challenge, the team endeavoured to adapt Dazzed's construction principles to a serif framework, incorporating exaggerated arches while drawing rhythmic and structural inspiration from the iconic Trajan's column typeface. Concrette represents the zenith of a journey through serif typeface design, a journey that commenced with Reckless and progressed through Tobias and Teodor. Its design is a synthesis of cumulative discoveries, akin to the formation of composite materials like concrete. The Concrette font family offers a trio of distinct variations: XL, M, and S. The XL variant excels in headlines with substantial stroke contrast, while the S variant, with its muted contrast and robust serifs, is adept for smaller text. The M variant, versatile and balanced, is ideal for a wide range of sizes and applications.
