Gellix is a mono-linear geometrical sans-serif font family. It was designed during a period of deep fascination with Paul Renner's first sketch of Futura, with an exploration of stylistic sets adding strict and cold alternatives for letters such as 'a, g, m, n, r, t'. The design creates tensions between circular and square shapes, alongside less geometrically based alternatives. In Gellix, the terminals are horizontal or vertical and the circle forms are connected gracefully onto the vertical stems. The #ellix families are mainly inspired by Futura (1924–1932, Paul Renner), Drescher Grotesk (2002, Arno Drescher and Nicolai Gogoll), Super Grotesk (1930, Arno Drescher) and Johnston (1915, Edward Johnston).
