Hellix is a mono-linear geometrical sans-serif font family designed during an internship at the Type Design and Typography Studio at UMPRUM in Prague. Shaped by a deep fascination with Paul Renner's first sketch of Futura, the design explores stylistic sets with strict and cold alternatives for 'a, g, m, n, r, t'. In Hellix, circle forms are 'punched' into the vertical stems and the terminals are diagonal. The #ellix families are mainly inspired by Futura (1924–1932, Paul Renner), Drescher Grotesk (2002, Arno Drescher and Nicolai Gogoll), Super Grotesk (1930, Arno Drescher) and Johnston (1915, Edward Johnston).
