Hermann Hoffmann’s Art Nouveau classic “Schwere Block” from 1908 served as the starting point for this caps-only font. To remove dust from the glyphs, the basic framework was redesigned in a more geometric manner — including horizontal stroke endings of C, G, J, S. Straightening the crude, inky outlines led to weight loss during the development phase, so a few extra pounds were added to preserve the super-thick appearance of the original. The glossy highlight extension allows for hierarchical typesetting.
